Keeping Pets Happy and Healthy

Preventative healthcare and regular veterinary check-ups are important for ensuring the health and happiness of your pet. In addition, if you need advice about nutrition, behaviour or any other aspect of pet care, we hope you will not hesitate to contact us or come along to one of our clinics.

We stock a variety of pet essentials at the surgery, including food, bedding, toys, grooming products, collars and leads. We can also deliver food and medication directly to your home - please ask us about our weekly delivery service.
Dogs

Regular health checks, a balanced diet, fresh water, training, vaccinations, treatments to prevent worms and fleas, microchipping, neutering and grooming are all important for your dog's health and welfare. We are on hand to help you meet your dog's needs and offer any advice you need to keep him or her in tip-top condition.
Cats

Like dogs, cats benefit from regular check-ups, a balanced diet, fresh water, neutering, brushing, microchipping and preventative healthcare. We are here to see cats through the journey from kittenhood into old age and are happy to offer owners guidance about all their requirements.
Small Pets

We look after rabbits, guinea pigs, hamsters, gerbils, ferrets, rats and mice as well as less common pets such as chinchillas, chipmunks and degus. To keep small pets happy and health, our advice includes providing regular health checks and preventative healthcare as well as a mixed balanced diet, fresh water, gnawing blocks, and a suitable home.
Poultry

We are enjoying seeing an increasing number of chickens, ducks and other fowl and are available to give guidance to all poultry keepers, whether novice or veteran. It is very important that domestic fowl are regularly inspected for any sign of illness and receive preventative healthcare. They also need suitable housing, a balanced diet, fresh water and freely available grit.
Exotic Pets

Exotic pets have their own specific health requirements, which vary from species to species. We advise anyone considering keeping an exotic pet to first make sure they are fully aware of their needs. Tortoises, the exotic pet we see the most, need regular veterinary attention and have very particular housing needs as they require a stable temperature. They also need a varied balanced diet with sufficient calcium and access to water to stay healthy, and Mediterranean tortoises need to hibernate during the winter.
